Gettin my craft on!

So this week wasn't very exciting at the Lincoln's apartment. But, me being without a job and being off track, I have finally had a lot of free time to finish all my crafts I have started. For instance, this little beauty was sitting in my grandma's basement. Yes, it is a 1960's KitchenAid that has hardly been used. When I was telling my grandma I was in search of one, she told me she had one in her basement. And so when we brought it home, I could see that I needed to give it a little TLC. So Jeston and I went out and got some spray paint, and let me tell ya, it is amazing what a little spray paint can do. So here is the before and after pictures.

It is more of a navy blue, but I would like to add some vinyl to the top of it yet. Not sure what, but we will see :) I have also been working on a quilt I saw in a quilting magazine. Here are some pictures of those as well. This has kept me busy all week and I am so glad that Jeston spoils me with fabric whenever he can.

Just a sneak peek for now, but hopefully I will be finished with it in the next few weeks. Hope everyone has a good week! :)

Birthday's are the best!

This is my first blog post since Jeston and I have been married. We have had so many adventures since we got married almost 10 months ago. We have moved to Rexburg to start school, and have finally picked our majors. As we travel, whether it is to Utah for the weekend or home to see our families, we are making memories and enjoying being married to each other. Every day brings something different, and we are counting our many blessings as we go to school and still get to know each other.

The story of Jeston and I meeting seems like it was so long ago. We met at a singles ward FHE and have been best friends since then. We dated for three weeks, and then Jeston brought me to Pounders, a jewelry store where my mom and grandma bought their rings, to pick out my engagement ring. He then proposed in the parking lot, and we have been happy ever since. We were both excited, thinking we would never get married, especially to someone from our home town. But Heavenly Father knew what was in store for us when we met.

As for the last couple months, we have finished winter semester, went home to visit family, and have been enjoying no homework and more free time. We went home to surprise Jeston’s mom for her birthday and to watch my little sister’s dance performance. I got to snap a few shots of her in her costume, and she is such a little diva.

While we were home, we went out to see Jeston’s grandma in the cemetery, and visit with Jeston’s family. It was so great seeing all of our family and spending time with them.

Our birthdays were this week, and I surprised Jeston with tickets to go see Brad Paisley later this summer. As you can see in the pictures, he was thrilled. We had a few friends over for cake and ice cream and later on played on the Wii for a few hours.  He surprised me on my birthday with a new pair of Toms, a bouquet of roses, and our favorite lunch, Taco Bell. We also got to see Man of Steel (thank you Jordan and Elaine for the tickets), and it was a good movie. All in all, it was a pretty good week for both of us. We have been dog sitting for our friends, and have been enjoying living with a dog. Jeston and I are both dog lovers, and would have one in a heartbeat if we could. So having Percy with us has been a blast. Now, as we hang out on this beautiful Sunday, we look forward to seeing what this week will bring.
